The Prince's Regeneration Trust works with local council to restore Anchor Mill
A joint scheme between Renfrewshire Council and The Prince's Regeneration Trust has enabled this Category A listed building to be beautifully regenerated into a combination of mixed use business space and private dwellings.
It was once part of a major industrial complex comprising of over 40 individual buildings that lined the White Cart River.
The regenerated building includes an element of public access to the spectacular atrium space, where the story of the mill and its rescue is now told in a permanent exhibition.
Our President, The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, celebrated the opening and initial occupation of the mill in June 2005.
When Anchor Mill closed in the 1980s, a number of attempts were made to find a satisfactory idea, but it was only when Renfrewshire Council requested the involvement of The Prince's Regeneration Trust that this exciting and innovative solution was found.
Sales have been so successful that a new market has been created in Paisley for loft-style apartments.
