Arts & Business World, Arts & Business, Responsible Business
As public funding of the arts around the world has decreased, so private sector support has taken on a global relevance. We in the UK are seen as experts in this field and are consistently approached by foreign governments, umbrella bodies, arts and business groups to share our knowledge and expertise.
My job is to oversee our response to these approaches. Over recent months we have run training courses in China, advised businesses ranging from a Nigerian start-up to a major Japanese luxury brand, hosted a Russian secondment and developed government thinking in Norway and Sweden.
But the best thing by far was a recent conference we hosted in London which brought together people from our sister organisations in 25 different countries, all with the goal of strengthening our international network.
