Managing Director of Classic FM, The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts, Education

More people in the UK listen to classical music each week through Classic FM than through any other medium. I believe that this means that we have a big responsibility to do everything we can to ensure that we develop the next generation of classical music listeners.

At Classic FM, we have worked closely with The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts since its earliest days, particularly on Arts & Kids Week, which has grown to be a major annual event in the classical music calendar, involving hundreds of events across the UK.

I am particularly proud of the Foundation's MusicQuest project, which was developed from one of The Prince of Wales’s own ideas.  Through this innovative project, which is funded by our charity Classic FM MusicMakers, 5,000 children a year are now receiving a fantastic classical music experience.

I'm convinced that in many cases, this introduction to classical music will be life changing. I'm very lucky to be able to listen to the greatest music ever written all day, every day, as part of my job. Our work with The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts means that thousands of children can now discover that enjoyment for themselves.
