The Prince's Trust

The Prince’s Trust is a charity that helps change young lives. The Trust’s work is focused on young people aged fourteen to thirty who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.

Across the UK, there are a million young people who are not in education, employment or training. The Prince’s Trust believes they all have potential and so offer simple, practical support to help them unlock their talents.

Since the charity was established by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1976, it has helped 575,000 young people and continue to help a hundred more each working day.

Through its programmes The Prince’s Trust help young people to develop the skills, motivation and confidence they need to set them on their chosen path; whether that’s securing an apprenticeship, getting their first job or setting up their own business. The results speak for themselves - 78% of the young people it supported last year moved into work, education or training.

But The Prince’s Trust can’t achieve this on their own. It works with over 800 operational and strategic partners, including the Fire Service, Further Education colleges, voluntary organisations, schools and community organisations across the UK.

The Trust also works with a network of major corporate partners – The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Citigroup, the Premier League, Football Foundation and PFA, Superdrug, Marks & Spencer and BT. It shares skills and expertise with over a hundred blue chip organisations including Bloomberg, Accenture, HMRC and many other public sector bodies.

The Prince’s Trust has 700 staff based in offices spread across the regions and countries of the UK. In addition, it has 7,000 volunteers who give their time freely to support delivery of its programmes and to help raise essential funds.

In all, The Trust needs to raise around £1 million per week to continue its work.
