Business in the Community
Business in the Community mobilises business for good. Its members commit to review and continually improve the way they operate with a specific focus on the need to manage resources wisely. Their power is in demonstrating the positive impact business can have on society and in so doing help rebuild trust and understanding of the value of business.
Business in the Community is a unique movement of over 850 member companies, representing one in five of the UK private sector workforce. A further 3,000 companies are engaged through its programmes and campaigns which operate through a local network of more than a hundred business-led partnerships. The charity leads a global partners network of 112 organisations operating in over sixty countries.
Business in the Community supports and challenges companies to integrate responsible business through its operations in order to have a positive impact on society and therefore be of 'public benefit'.
One of the charity’s most effective programmes for engaging business in society is The Prince’s Seeing is Believing visits. These invite senior business leaders to see for themselves how business can play a role in tackling Britain’s most pressing social issues, in some of the most deprived inner city and rural areas. The visits, hosted by a senior business leader on behalf of HRH The Prince of Wales, provide a powerful personal experience for the leaders and help to ensure responsible business is recognized as an integral part of any successful business.
